My French friend here in Pau recently recommended an exhibit at the Beaux Arts Museum, so today I checked it out. The Museum is only a five minute walk from my apartment and it’s always free to get in.
The exhibition was a huge collection of photography from Robert Doisneau, famous for his images of artists and life in Paris in the 1950s. I have known of his work since before I studied art in college.
What a great exhibit! I love that Museum too. It’s a great modern space not only showing quality exhibits, but also housing a collection of some old masters, including El Greco, Rubens, Degas, and other contemporary artists such as Vladimir Veličković.
If you ever visit Pau, France, I highly recommend the museum.
