Two Weeks In Pau

It has been just over two weeks living in Pau. Since moving back, I have met up with two dudes at my place, and then met up with them again last weekend for some mid-day wine along with a couple other dudes they know who now live here from California.

Then our motley crew met up at a Japanese restaurant last night and after our sushi and donburi we walked through Quartier du Hédas, or simply Le Hédas, which is a former canal that was rerouted underground and filled in 1850 and was formerly home to artisans, cabarets, and inns. It stretches about a mile from the castle to the other side of town, not too far from my apartment.

Last night it was filled with dancers and much revelry, but tonight was much more subdued for my nightly walk to cool off from the extreme heat as I walked the full length and enjoyed the views of the underbelly of Pau.
